I wish there had been a facility like The Formula back in 2011 when I first got sober. After admitting myself into rehab and attending AA meetings regularly there was something missing. I was simply surviving my life by staying sober but I wasn't really living. The missing piece came together for me when I began incorporating fitness, nutrition, and meditation into my life. I found that a balance between mental and physical health enabled me to create a life where addiction no longer fit. It took me a long time to figure this out and I am so happy that there is now a facility that teaches these practices first and foremost.

I'm thrilled to see that The Formula's treatment plan combine therapy, nutritional coaching, customized fitness plans and life skills. I firmly believe to successfully overcome substance abuse and mental health issues treatment needs to be focused on "total wellness" –healing the body and mind together. Many who abuse drugs or alcohol often disregard the importance of exercise and nutrition, wreaking havoc on emotional and physical well being. This approach should be the new gold standard.
